Evidence of my Classroom Organization:

Classroom organization is just as critical to the learning process as is the manner in which new material is delivered and presented.  My teaching philosophy is centered on my commitment to providing an environment in which learners are able to grow both academically and linguistically. Their ability to succeed in my classroom is directly related to the environment I establish and its ability to provide each of my students with the necessary tools to succeed.

Description

During student teaching, I was afforded the opportunity to make any and all necessary changes to thevclassroom and daily routines in order to discover the perfect blend of classroom organization and management that would ensure my success as an educator and, likewise, ensure my students' success in my classroom.  This provides evidence that I have demonstrated successful application of classroom management plans and strategies. A thorough description of my ideal classroom, daily routines and strategies are included within the Classroom Management Plan. I developed the environment and classroom layout that I would like to establish within my classroom. As an urban educator, my classroom management plan will seek to provide a environment that meets the learning needs of diverse learners.

Reflection

Constructing the Classroom Management Plan gave me experience in forming daily routines and establishing the necessary classroom organization to ensure that students are successful in my classroom. This experience was challenging but, ultimately, very rewarding. I feel that the strategies, decisions and changes that I made will positively assist me in my future teaching practice. In the futre, I will use a similar framework and layout to analyze, evaluate, and be more observant of myself and my students in order to become a more effective teacher and ensure their academic success in my classroom.

At the front of the classroom, students are able to easily access resources and important information that will help them be successful in Spanish class: the calendar, daily agenda, classroom expectations, and a place to find make-up work when students are sick or absent.

Learning targets are written daily on the white board so students will know what they are working to master that day. Learning targets also allow students to more accurately assess personal growth, comprehension and mastery of the Spanish language.
